Reliability improvement of multi-phase interleaved DC-DC converters for fuel cell electric vehicle applications

This paper suggests a fast and low-cost method that can be applied in several DC/DC converter topologies for detecting open circuit faults (OCFs) short (SCFs). The suggested may identify the of power switches even if they occur simultaneously multi-phase interleaved boost converters (MPh-IBC) by using just sensors needed to control converter. fault detection (FDM) is based mainly on comparing measured inductor current two thresholds, one OCFs other SCFs detection. combined with corrective strategy mitigate negative impacts OCFs, particularly significant rise ripple DC bus voltage fuel cell (FC) current, which reduces FC aging reliability. simulation findings indicate FDM's excellent performance speed, as well its usefulness defects many converter, time up 1.7 µs. acquired further show effectiveness reducing these ripples event or faults.
